Migraine/Headache Q & A

What is the TruDenta® system?

TruDenta® is a revolutionary system that can effectively relieve previously untreatable headaches by uncovering and addressing the root cause or your pain. It’s a unique service that’s only offered by certified practitioners.

Dr. Kimche first uses advanced technology to carefully examine your head, neck, and jaw for signs of inflammation and tension that frequently lead to the pain associated with migraine-type headaches. Once he’s identified the cause of your pain, he creates a customized treatment plan that’s designed to fit your specific needs.

What is the TruDenta® exam like?

The TruDenta® exam includes a thorough review of your symptoms and headache history as well as a careful examination of your teeth and the nerves and ligaments that run through your head and jaw. Previous trauma sustained in a car accident or sports injury or problems associated with misaligned teeth can often throw this delicate system out of balance. This can result in chronic inflammation, irritation, and pain.

The diagnostic portion of TruDenta® includes a bite force analysis that displays how much force your mouth and jaw exert when you chew or speak, including the amount of force exerted by each individual tooth. This enables Dr. Kimche to identify abnormalities that may be contributing to your symptoms.

The exam also includes a range of motion analysis that measures any abnormal or restricted movement in your head and neck in order to help narrow the potential causes of your headache symptoms and create a specialized treatment plan.

What is the treatment for migraines/headaches?

Once he’s pinpointed the underlying cause of your pain, Dr. Kimche designs a rehabilitative program that resolves your symptoms by correcting the root cause of your pain. Treatments vary by individual and depend on the cause of your pain.

Dr. Kimche may recommend:

  • Dental procedures to correct alignment of your teeth
  • Nighttime use of a mouth guard to prevent teeth grinding (bruxism)
  • Physical therapy treatments such as ultrasound and trigger point massage or manipulation
  • Cold laser therapy
